Marina Spivak appears almost as a strict and restrained classic, devoted to traditional material. However, the stylistics of Marina's sculpture is largely determined by the denial of dry academicism, a clear rejection of static and natural striving for dynamism of form, the search for paradoxical plastic solutions.
Marina was born in 1955 in Leningrad. A graduate from the Leningrad Art School named after V.A. Serov (St. Petersburg Art School named after N. Roerich). Since 1977 she has been associated with exhibitions, art events, projects and symposia. She is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. The sculptor's works are in the State Russian Museum, the Yaroslavl Art Museum, the Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, as well as in private collections in Russia, Great Britain and France.
